Government Chief Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor has confirmed that Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Ong'ondo met his death due to extensive internal injuries inflicted by multiple gunshot wounds.

Speaking to the press after conducting a detailed autopsy at Lee Funeral Home, Dr. Oduor revealed that the MP was shot five times, with the bullets penetrating vital internal organs.

“The nature and extent of the injuries made survival impossible,” Dr. Oduor stated.

The postmortem was witnessed by family lawyers, among them Apollo Mboya and Peter Kopere, and senior homicide officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), led by Head of Homicide Martin Nyuguto.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the legislator was trailed from Parliament by a vehicle and a motorcycle, pointing to a premeditated attack.

According to DCI findings, mobile phone triangulation, witness statements, and CCTV footage suggest coordination among the suspects before, during, and after the fatal shooting.

Four suspects have so far been arraigned in court, while others remain at large. Arrests began last Sunday at around 2 a.m. in various parts of Nairobi, including the Kasarani area of Roysambu Sub-County and Pangani.

During the operations, DCI officers recovered live ammunition and spent cartridges from the homes of the suspects.

In a significant development, the first respondent—who identified himself as a serving police officer, a claim now under verification—led detectives to his residence, where USD 4,800 was recovered.

Authorities have secured the cash and launched investigations into its source and relevance to the murder.

At the home of the second respondent, officers discovered nine live rounds of ammunition of an unconfirmed calibre and eight undocumented teargas canisters.

Two vehicles were also seized from the first and second suspects, which will undergo further forensic analysis, including DNA testing.
