The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs expressed deep concern for those affected and urged Kenyans in the region to take precautions to ensure their safety.
The advisory encourages citizens to stay informed by following local news and official alerts for updates on aftershocks and emergency response efforts.
It also advises avoiding travel to severely affected areas and seeking refuge in stable, open spaces.
Kenyans in Thailand are encouraged to sign up with the Kenyan Embassy in Bangkok for assistance and updates.
The embassy can be reached by calling +66990745752 or emailing bangkok@mfa.go.ke.
Additionally, citizens are advised to adhere strictly to evacuation orders and safety guidelines issued by local disaster management agencies.
The government also encourages Kenyans to check on their fellow citizens, especially students, diaspora workers, and vulnerable people, to ensure their safety.A bird flies above the rubble at the site of an under-construction building collapse in Bangkok on March 31, 2025, three days after an earthquake struck central Myanmar and Thailand.
