Irate over the events, Wamatangi's supporters carried placards and demanded the governor's release.
During the morning raid, the detectives seized Ksh.12 million and USD 13,000 (Ksh.1.6 million) in cash from Wamtangi's residence; funds suspected to be proceeds of corruption.
