Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has
pledged to cover the funeral expenses of slain Harambee Stars and AFC Leopards
super fan Isaac Juma who was hacked to death by unknown assailants last month.
According to Oparanya, his county will similarly to
educate three of Juma’s 12 children who are currently in secondary school.
Juma, whose burial is set for February 12,
was murdered at his family home in Bunyenjere village, Mumias West, Kakamega County
on January 26, 2022.
His body will leave Mumias mortuary on Friday
en route to Kakamega’s Bukhungu Stadium and Mumias Complex for viewing.
Thereafter, the body of the deceased will be
taken to his family home for a vigil ahead of his burial on Saturday.
Detectives have since arrested the main
suspect behind Juma’s murder.
The suspect, Milton Namatsi (27) was arrested
at his house by Mumias-based sleuths after preliminary investigations linked
him to the murder.
