Governor Mungaro warns against unauthorized constructions, threatens demolitions
The county boss was speaking to the media on Monday where he accused DCI officers of colluding with land grabbers to harass residents in the county.
“This story about threats from people from DCI, I don’t want to hear them, we have County laws, and we have our by-laws,” Mung’aro said on Monday.
His statement comes just days after residents claimed to have received eviction letters allegedly written by well-connected tycoons working in collusion with corrupt government officials.
According to Mung'aro, obtaining building permits is solely the responsibility of the county, and any eviction notice or demolition authorization must come from the appropriate offices.
“ If you build without a permit, we will bring the buildings down, if you build a wall or a storey house we will bring it down,” cautioned Mung’aro.
Governor Mungaro threatened to confront DCI officers, some of whom have been accused of meddling in land cases outside of their jurisdiction.
