Governor Gladys Wanga reshuffles cabinet to enhance service delivery in Homa Bay county
In announcement made Wednesday, Wanga nominated Engineer Elijah Munga to serve as the County Executive Committee (CEC) member for youth, sports, talent development, gender inclusivity, cultural heritage and social services.
At the same time, Governor Wanga nominated Elly Nyiero and Stephen Okeyo to serve as chief officers for youth, sports, talent development, cultural heritage and social services, and vocational training and human capital development respectively.
In the cabinet reshuffle, the governor moved Roselyne Omolo from the Public health and medical service department to the governance, administration, communication and devolution department. Omolo was swapped with Grace Osewe.
Dr. Joash Oloo was moved from Water and Sanitation to the department of Trade and investments, while Dr. John Ongili was moved from the department of Blue Economy and fisheries to Water and Sanitation.
Sarah Malit was moved from the department of Sports and Youth to the department of Blue Economy and fisheries.
Governor Wanga further reassigned roles and departments to nine chief officers.
"The changes herein take effect immediately. The County Secretary is tasked to ensure smooth handing over by those affected," Governor Wanga said of the changes.
She added that the changes are meant to ensure optimal performance in the county government of Homa Bay.
