Gladys Wanga dismisses critics accusing ODM of not holding Ruto’s gov’t to account
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party
national chairperson Glady Wanga has told off leaders faulting the party for
not putting the government in check, saying that they can also do the role if
they feel the party members are not doing enough.
Wanga, who was speaking at Lejio Maria
church headquarters in God Kweru, Suna West, Migori County on Sunday, said ODM leaders
have fought and are still fighting for Kenya’s well-being and whoever feels
that they are not doing enough also complement.
“Most of the ODM party elected leaders have
found themselves in very tough situations when fighting for Kenyans when some
leaders who are not criticising them are in their comfort zone,” she said.
The ODM party national chairperson said the
outfit is going to form the next government come 2027.
Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi who
also attended the prayer service said President William Ruto is an honest
person.
Wandayi said the Luo community must also
calculate their political steps accurately. He said the ODM party and even the Luo
community is rightly in Ruto’s government.
In his remarks, Migori Governor Ochilo
Ayacko asked the people of Migori County to give elected leaders time to
deliver services.
“Counties have been receiving very little
money for development and members of the National Assembly and the Senate need
to bring more funds to the counties,” Ayacko said.
