Gatundu South MP Gabriel Kagombe freed on Ksh.1M cash bail in murder case

Gatundu South MP Gabriel Kagombe appears at the Machakos High Court on a murder case on June 7, 2024.

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Gabriel Kagombe has been released on a Ksh.1 million cash bail after pleading not guilty to murder charges.

MP Kagombe was also slapped with an alternative bond of Ksh.2 million and a surety of a similar amount.

In the case, Kagombe was charged with fatally shooting boda boda rider David Nduati Wataha on May 17, 2024, at around 4:30pm at Kimuchu area in Makongeni, Thika.

Kagombe underwent a mental assessment test on Wednesday as ordered by the Machakos High Court Judge Francis Olel during the Monday hearing.

Justice Olel set the case for mentioning on July 17, 2024.
