Gachagua may have poor judgement but is a good crowd mobiliser - Nelson Havi
Speaking to Citizen TV on Tuesday, Havi noted that Gachgua's accusations against the Kenya Kwanza administration cannot be ignored since he was once the State's defender-in-chief.
He added that Gachagua's political prospects are peaking as he encourages Kenyans to be wary of affording the ruling administration a second term in 2027.
"There are some things he says out of jest, sometimes out of clownism but it does not matter what he says," Havi noted.
"He is a distinguished crowd mobiliser. He may be poor in his judgement but he pulls crowds. The unfortunate thing about Kenyans, they listen to whoever entertains them the most and Gachagua has that gift."
The former DP joined opposition politicians Kalonzo Musyoka and Eugene Wamalwa during the unveiling of the latter’s new DAP Party headquarters in Nairobi on Monday.
“We are part of this team and will walk this journey together to liberate this country. We will make whatever sacrifices necessary to make sure William Ruto is a one-term president,” he said.
He challenged Kenyans to stand up against Ruto, whom he accused of being “intolerant” and “dictatorial”, citing some of the policies Ruto wanted to implement such as unsavory tax hikes which eventually sparked deadly nationwide street protests in 2024.
“The government he leads is a one-man show; he wants his way and all those ministers you see there are flower girls. I was the only one who could stand up to him and say, hey boss, this can’t work,” he said.
His attack against the state has been scoffed at by Ruto's close men but the former DP has vowed to remain committed to reveal the ills harbored by the government.
