Gachagua impeachment: Onyonka, Ngunjiri tell President Ruto, DP to iron out issues
Kisii Senator Richard
Onyoka and former Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri have asked President William Ruto
to intervene and shelve the impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi
Gachagua.
Speaking on Sunday at
Ngata, Rongai in Nakuru County, Onyonka said President Ruto and his deputy are
a consequence of the political system saying they must sit down and iron out
their differences.
“Gachagua and William Ruto are a consequence
of Kenya’s problematic political system. You cannot kill a political system,
there must be dialogue,” said the senator.
He called on former prime
minister Raila Odinga to extend a hand and resolve the issue. At the same time,
Ngunjiri said the duo needs to rise above their differences and cool down the
rising political differences.
Ngunjiri called for
tolerance and urged Mt Kenya region leaders to stop extending their wars to
Nakuru.
“Central people are bringing politics here.
Tell them to take it back. We do not want their politics; we want to live in
peace,” he said,
Rongai MP Paul Chebor
say all is set for Gachagua’s impeachment on Tuesday and there is no turning
back unless President Ruto intervenes.
