Gachagua assembles political ‘Avengers’ to stop Ruto’s 2027 re-election

After falling out with the administration he once served, Gachagua is now positioning himself as the architect of a political resistance, claiming that the team he's putting together is on “the right side of history.”
His mission: to unite powerful and once-divided figures into a formidable political force.
Gachagua's declaration that his team "has what it takes to make Ruto a one-term leader" echoes the audacious spirit of Marvel's "Infinity War," an all-or-nothing political finale.
Gachagua revealed he’s already held meetings with some of Kenya’s most influential political players—including former cabinet secretaries Fred Matiang’i, Mithika Linturi, and Justin Muturi, plus political juggernauts Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Eugene Wamalwa, and Mukhisa Kituyi.
The question now is whether this ragtag group of political heavyweights can stay united long enough to challenge the might of Ruto’s administration (the Thanos of this story), or whether their individual ambitions and past rivalries will pull them apart before the final battle.
With a new party launch slated for May, Gachagua is confident the 2027 race is his to shape.
Speaking to Weru TV on Sunday, he said the opposition's battle plan will be rooted in cold, hard data—not tribal kingmaking or backroom deals.
“We’re relying on scientific data, not guesswork. This is a precision mission to defeat the incumbent,” he said.
One of Gachagua’s headline promises is a bold move to dismantle President Ruto’s controversial Housing Levy. If elected, he vows to refund Kenyans and hand over the housing initiative to county governments.
“We will kill the Housing Levy. It’s a private enterprise masked as a government program,” he said. “The counties will rent out the houses, and Kenyans will get their money back—every shilling.”
But that’s just the beginning.
Gachagua says the alliance will announce its presidential flag bearer by the end of 2026, after launching a fierce grassroots campaign across the country. Central Kenya, he says, will be ground zero for the political revolution.
“We’re targeting 50 MPs from the central region alone. We’re not just building a coalition—we’re building a political machine,” he added.
