According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects; Bethwel Kipkoech, Celestine Cherop Chepsoi, Eddah Cheptanui Boit and Jackson Kipkosgei allegedly forged certificates to secure jobs at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
They were charged with the offences of forgery of academic certificates, making of false documents, uttering of false documents, and fraudulent acquisition of public property.
The accused denied the charges and were released on a cash bail of Ksh. 100,000 or a bond of Ksh. 300,000.
These arraignments come in the wake of a similar incident where a Ministry of Education official, Joash Kirwa was charged with allegedly faking a Moi University degree certificate alongside academic transcripts to acquire a job at the State Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Kirwa was arraigned at Eldoret Law Courts on February 15, after being charged with five counts of forgery for fabricating academic qualifications.
He later pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a Ksh.200,000 cash bail.
