Former President Uhuru sued, accused of planning 'unlawful' meeting
Former nominated Member of Parliament Hassan Osman has
written to the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) seeking to block former
President Uhuru Kenyatta from convening the Jubilee Party National Delegates
Conference on May 22nd, 2023.
The former legislator, a member of the Jubilee Party has
cited concerns that the conference is wrongful and unlawful and could
destabilize the party.
He further states the two warring factions; one led by
Kenyatta, Jeremiah Kioni and Kagwe Gichohi and the other one led by Sabina
Chege and Kanini Kega, have unlawful, illegal and unprocedurally tried to
fabricate the party constitution, membership and leadership.
Under the certificate of urgency, Hassan Osman wants the
court to stop the NDC citing that the party branches are currently inactive,
and that the party documents are not readily available, raising fears that
strangers may participate in the delegates' conference.
