Football fans feared dead as hall built over septic tank collapses in Mombasa

A number of people are feared dead after a septic tank collapsed beneath a local football viewing hall in Bamburi Mwisho area, Nyali Constituency, Mombasa County.
According to Mombasa County Commissioner Mohammed Noor, the incident happened around 6 PM while fans were watching a football match.
The hall had been constructed directly over the septic tank, which suddenly caved in.
Rescue operations are ongoing as authorities work to determine the number of individuals still trapped.
Residents have raised concerns, calling on the Mombasa County Government to take immediate action.
They say this is not the first time such an incident has occurred in the area.
