Five people killed, 3 seriously injured in Namanga road accident

Five people died on Thursday while three others sustained serious injuries following a grisly road accident involving a private vehicle and a motorcycle at Maili Tisa in Namanga, Kajiado County.

Three people who were in the vehicle died on the spot, while two were injured and later died at the Namanga Health Centre. Police confirmed that all occupants of the vehicle died.

The motorcycle rider and two pillion passengers sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at at the Namanga Health Centre.

Reports indicate that the driver of the vehicle, which was en route to Namanga from Nairobi, was intoxicated during the incident.

The bodies of the deceased persons have since been moved to Kajiado Referral Hospital Mortuary pending identification and post-mortem.
