Five family members killed in road accident along Eldoret-Malaba highway

Five people died on the spot on Sunday following a fatal accident involving a trailer, a tractor and a car in the Murgus area along the Eldoret-Malaba highway, Kakamega County.

The trailer driver is said to have been speeding from Eldoret when he hit the tractor's rear before losing direction and colliding with the oncoming Toyota Probox.

The five family members in the car were returning home after a family member's wedding in Busia.

They died on the spot while two survived with injuries, police said.

Confirming the incident, Lugari Constituency OCPD Julius Melly said that the bodies were taken to Webuye Hospital morgue, while the injured are receiving treatment at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
