Family seeks justice after 26-year-old daughter killed while visiting partner in Nairobi

Lisper Ng'endo's body was discovered murdered in Kajiado, four days after she left for Nairobi to visit her boyfriend, according to her father, James Munene.

A family in Kirima village, Ngaru location, Kirinyaga County, is in shock following the mysterious death of their 26-year-old daughter, allegedly at the hands of her boyfriend.

Lisper Ng'endo's body was discovered murdered in Kajiado, four days after she left for Nairobi to visit her boyfriend, according to her father, James Munene.

The devastating news was relayed to the family by Munene’s sister-in-law, Rose Njeri, who lives in Nairobi.

Ng’endo’s sister, Caroline Wandia, recounted that on Saturday, February 1, 2025, Lisper left the Kerugoya matatu stage around 4 p.m. after receiving a call from her boyfriend.

"I kept in touch with her until she arrived at his place around 8 p.m. That was the last time we spoke—after that, her phone went off," Wandia said.

The family is struggling to understand why Lisper was killed by someone she had been in a relationship with for over six years.

"He had visited our home in Kirima several times, and my sister had even visited his family in Kericho. We were waiting for their marriage," Wandia lamented. "She had a shop here at home. Why did he do this to her?"

According to Munene, the suspect allegedly confessed to his sister-in-law on Wednesday, February 5, that he had killed Lisper and dumped her body in Kajiado.

"I couldn’t believe it when I saw my daughter’s body at the city mortuary, covered in serious injuries. I want him arrested—he escaped after informing my sister-in-law about the murder," Munene said.

The family also revealed that the man had falsely claimed to be a senior Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer in Nairobi, only for them to later discover that he worked as a shamba boy in Kajiado.

"All along, we believed he was a DCI officer. On Monday that week, he told us he had traveled to America, yet my sister didn’t even have a passport. Then, suddenly, he admitted to killing her and vanished. We want justice," Wandia said.

As the family prepares to lay Lisper Ng’endo to rest in Kirima village, grief and unanswered questions linger.

"She went to Nairobi because she loved him—why did he turn against her?" wondered Elias Muriuki and Irene Nyawira, neighbors who had come to console the family.
