The deceased, Mercy Cherop, was last seen on the 6th of September and her body was found at the City Mortuary on Thursday 12th of this month.
Police records show she was the victim of a motorbike accident, but her family says there is more to the death than meets the eye.
The 26-year-old woman was reported missing from her Embakasi home on the 15th of last month.
“Tulimuona hapa nyumbani tarehe 9 September alipokuwa amekuja kwa matanga ya nyanya yake. Tukapata ripoti kwamba alipotea tarehe 16, tarehe 19 my husband akareport kwa polisi tuko hata na OB number,” Morsline Majiwa .
The family's search for their daughter came to a painful and abrupt end at the City Mortuary on Thursday this week.
The family says records at the mortuary indicate that their late daughter was brought in by police and recorded as a victim of a motorbike accident at Pangani.
The parents say police told them that their daughter died at the scene of the accident and had suffered broken ribs and a deep cut on the head.
The parents' suspicions of foul play in their daughter's death are also informed by the status of her house here in Nairobi after her death, which detectives found in disarray. They also say her phone's signal is still active.
“Her phone was tracked and someone is still using it, we want the police to find out who that is,” said Majiwa.
Her parents also want the presence of a KDF officer in their daughter's life investigated.
“Polisi ndio wanajua, wanaweza kutuambia ile connection ya kdf officer na mtoto wetu,” Majiwa added.
