A 30-year-old man who has been masquerading
as a pastor was on Monday arraigned in Thika law court for allegedly sodomizing
a 21-year-old man on different dates between 2020 and 2021.
Simon Nderitu Mwangi was charged with two
sexual offences of rape and sexually harassing the complainant on the different
dates at Ndarasha village in Juja constituency.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Stella
Atambo, Nderitu denied the first count but pleaded guilty to the second one.
According to a medical report, the
complainant, who was then a high school learner was examined and found that he
had injuries around his anus.
Nderitu shocked the court when he narrated
to the magistrate how he is addicted to homosexuality and that he is not attracted
to the female gender.
“Why am I being crucified for my sexual
preference?” He paused a rhetorical question to Atambo before he unfolded how
they regularly meet in groups.
A confident and proud Nderitu further told the audience in court how homosexuals interact in different
towns and on the internet. He said there are even form-one students in their
meetings.
The court was told that the accused person
introduced himself to the parents of the complainant as a pastor, but he was acting
prey to the then teenager.
Atambo heard that the accused person used
to buy gifts while dishing out money to the complainant as a way of seducing
him.
The case will be brought back to the court
on 3rd April 2023 for sentencing.
