Ex-Tetu MP Ndungu Gethinji skips court date, again, in forgery case

Former Tetu Member of Parliament James Ndungu Gethinji on Tuesday failed to appear in court again for plea taking over forgery allegations.

Gethinji’s advocates told Milimani Law Court Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku that the suspect lost his mother-in-law who was under his care until the time of demise.

The court heard that Gethinji, on November 21, 2018, in Nairobi, forged minutes of the meeting of Kihingo Village (Waridi Gardens) Management One Limited with intent to deceive.

The charges relate to Kihingo estate management contention.

Gethinji allegedly forged minutes of a board meeting of a company that he purported to hold 60 shares in the Kihingo Village (Waridi Gardens) Management One Ltd, the company that controls the upmarket Kihingo estate in Kitisuru, Nairobi.

It is alleged that the minutes sought to appoint Chacha Mabanga as the director of Kihingo Village (Waridi Gardens) Management One Ltd as this would have given control of the 60 shares.

The ex-legislator did not appear in court for plea taking two weeks ago saying he had been in contact with someone whose friend was COVID-19 positive and as such was taking Ministry of Health guidelines to self-isolate.

Magistrate Martha Mutuku directed Gethinji’s advocates to file the alleged death notification document in court, and that the accused appear in court on December 14, 2020 for plea taking.
