Ex-MP Ngunjiri accuses clergy for turning blind eye to feud between Ruto and Gachagua
Former Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has faulted the church for failing to intervene
in the ongoing feud between President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi
Gachagua.
Speaking in Nakuru on Monday during a meeting with local leaders, Ngunjiri said that the tension is
causing panic in the country and should be quelled expeditiously.
Ngunjiri urged the leaders to seek
mediation from the church and resolve their differences, adding that it is impeding service delivery.
"We did a lot in building a peaceful
nation, we are worried about the rollback the bickering among our top leaders
is creating," he said.
Most leaders in Nakuru have
backed Gachagua's looming impeachment amid heaping political calls for
his ouster.
According to National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah, Members of Parliament are set to table the motion in Parliament on Tuesday at 2:30 pm.
Tabling
the motion will require 233 MPs to support it to sail through, with reports
indicating that as of the close of business Sunday, 302 members of parliament
had appended their signatures.
