Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu will on Wednesday know his fate in the Ksh.588 million graft case against him.

This as the Nairobu Anti-Corruption Court is set to deliver a judgement in the case that also roped in Waititu’s wife Susan Wangari Ndungu as well as Luka Mwangi Wahinya (former transport manager), Charles Chege Mbuthia, Beth Wangeci Mburu, Testimony Enterprises Limited, Saika Two Estate Developers Limited, and Bienvenue Delta Hotel.

The ex-Kiambu County boss and his co-accused were charged with the irregular awarding of road tenders worth the said amount in February 2018.

They also face separate charges of conflict of interest, abuse of office, engaging in fraudulent practices in procurement, fraudulent acquisition of public property, and money laundering.

“The accused persons were convicted after 32 prosecution witnesses testified, and 129 exhibits were produced,” the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) said in a statement on Tuesday.

“The Chief Magistrate, Hon. Thomas Nzyoki, today issued a summons against Waititu after he failed to appear in court and directed that he appear in court physically on Wednesday, 12th February 2025, at 9:30 a.m. when the judgement will be delivered.
