Rashid stands accused of the murder of two teenagers, Jamal Mohammed and Mohammed Dhair Kheri on March 31, 2017, at Amal Plaza in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

The incident which occurred in broad daylight and in the presence of onlookers, led to Rashid being branded the "killer cop."
