Barely
hours after she was sworn in as the Embu County Secretary, Esther Thaara Muhoria
has been nominated as the Principal Secretary in the State Department for TVETs
by President William Ruto.
Dr.
Muhoria was among the 51 names picked by the Head of State on Wednesday out of
the 250 names the Public Service Commission (PSC) had forwarded to him after conducting
interviews.
The
PS nominee was, until her assumption of the county office, the Registrar of
Academic Affairs at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology
(JKUAT).
She
joins the likes of former Lang'ata MP Nixon Korir, former EAC PS in charge of
Regional and Northern Corridor Development Belio Kipsang, and former Nairobi
County Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke.
Korir
was nominated to the State Department for Lands and Physical Planning while
Kipsang makes a return to the State Department for Basic Education. Mueke is, on
the other hand, set to take over the State Department for Sports and the Arts.
The
51 will now be vetted by relevant departmental House committees to determine
their suitability for appointment by the President.
