Energy PS Wachira urges consultative transfer of national gov’t functions to counties

The Principal Secretary in the State Department of Energy, Alex Wachira, has called on technical officers engaged in the ongoing transfer of functions from the national government to the county governments to ensure the process is consultative.

Speaking at Sawela Lodge in Naivasha, Nakuru County, on Monday, the PS welcomed the move by the intergovernmental technical relations to revoke the Gazette notice that was published on 27th November 2023 to allow further deliberations.

The Ps said the unbundling and transfer of functions should consider the views of stakeholders to enhance better service delivery without overlapping roles.
