Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has criticised opposition leaders, accusing them of destabilizing the country through incitement and chaos.

Speaking during an Economic Empowerment forum held at Olooltepes in Kajiado West Constituency, Kindiki attributed the recent destruction of property and loss of life to what he described as "irresponsible political agitation" by elements within the opposition.

“We must stop the cycle of violence, tribalism and chaos if this country is to move forward,” said the Deputy President.

He urged Kenyans to remain united, promote peace, and reject leaders who preach hatred and division, emphasizing that the government was focused on transforming lives through tangible development initiatives aligned with the Kenya Kwanza manifesto.

Among the key projects highlighted by the Deputy President was the construction of over 400 fresh produce markets across the country, 14 of which are located in Kajiado County — including Namanga, Bisil, Rongai, Kitengela, Kiserian, and Kimana.

Kindiki also announced the government’s plan to construct affordable hostels for students in technical institutions and universities. Kajiado West Technical Training Institute is set to benefit from 340 new units worth Ksh165 million, with similar initiatives planned for Maasai TTI and other institutions in the county.

Other national programs underscored by the Deputy President include the Affordable Housing Programme, overseas employment opportunities, the Climate WorX green jobs initiative, the establishment of ICT hubs, and the recruitment of professionals such as teachers, police officers, and community health promoters.

On infrastructure, Kindiki confirmed the government's commitment to the ongoing recarpeting of the Ngong–Suswa road, which is expected to enhance transport and trade between Kajiado and Naivasha.

He further appealed to residents to register with the Social Health Authority (SHA), noting that 500,000 out of Kajiado County’s 1.1 million residents had already signed up.

"As of today, 24.7 million Kenyans have registered with SHA. Our target is to reach 50 million," he said.

Addressing rural electrification, Kindiki revealed that Ksh700 million has been allocated to enhance Last Mile Electricity Connectivity in Kajiado County, benefiting 4,000 new households. Kajiado West Constituency alone will receive Ksh125 million under the program.

The high-profile event was attended by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, and Presidential Advisor Farouk Kibet.

Also present were MPs Leah Sankaire (Kajiado County), Nelson Koech (Belgut), George Sunkuyia (Kajiado West), Johana Ngeno (Emurua Dikirr), Sabina Chege (Nominated), Fatuma Zainab Mohammed (Migori), Donya Dorice (Kisii), Lilian Siyoi (Trans Nzoia), and former Kajiado Senator Peter Mositet, among others. A delegation of Kajiado County MCAs led by the County Assembly Speaker also graced the event
