KUTRRH has seen a total of 27 patients, with eight already discharged and 19 currently under care, including 10 males, six females, and three minors.
Among these, one patient is in critical condition due to severe burns and inhalation injuries. An expectant mother and a 4-year-old minor are also receiving medical attention.
At KNH, the situation remains critical yet under control. The hospital received 67 patients from the incident, with six in critical condition, suffering from severe burns.
The hospital has discharged 27 patients, while 34 others continue to receive care in various wards. The patients are undergoing a range of treatments, including wound care, dressing, pain control, and are in consultation with physiotherapists for rehabilitation.
At the Embakasi Social Hall, 761 beneficiaries got direct supplies from the multi-agency response including essential supplies with each of the beneficiaries getting a package that included rice, beans, blankets, jikos, sleeping mats, bar soap, kitchen sets, corned beef and sanitary towels.
Currently, 28 families, comprising 30 adults and 19 children, (6 male, 17 female and 16 children) are taking shelter at the Social Hall.
Mwaura also asked those who lost their documents and certificates in the tragedy to register at the Embakasi Social Hall for the government to facilitate the replacement through National Registration Bureau (NRB), and other bodies such as KNEC.
The fire erupted at Mradi village in Embakasi after a lorry carrying gas cylinders exploded at around 11:30 pm on Thursday.
