Embakasi: 25-year-old woman strangled to death, body found dumped inside a sack

The body of an unidentified woman, aged approximately 25 years, was on Wednesday found dumped inside a sack in Nairobi's Embakasi estate.

Police officers attached to Kware police station made the discovery after area residents informed them of the suspicious-looking sack.

"It was reported by 2 National Police Service (NPS) officers who were on day patrol duties within the areas of Stage Mpya within Kware that they were informed by members of public that there was a sack dumped along the makeshift structures suspected to be having a human body," a police report documenting the incident reads in part.

"Police visited the scene and found the naked body of unknown female adult aged approximately 25 years."

The victim, police say, appeared to have been strangled to death while her mouth, eyes and limbs had been bound by pieces of clothing.

"The body had strangulation marks on the neck and blood stains on the nose and ears and also signs of incontinence were noted," said the police report.

The woman's body has since been moved to City Mortuary pending identification and post-mortem.
