Eliud Owallo Quits From CORD Secretariat
In a statement issued to the media today, Owallo cited ‘unwarranted attacks’ from Deputy Minority Leader Jakoyo Midiwo for his move.
Owallo in his resignation letter said that in the past two years, he had to endure a lot of similar backstabbing, innuendos and political intrigues from political busy bodies including Midiwo.
“I cannot reconcile my conscience with the latest attacks from Jakoyo who in my considered opinion and belief has no technical capacity to advice me on anything,” he said.
Owallo however said that his resignation is not limited to his role on voluntary basis as the head of the CORD Secretariat.
Owallo went ahead to copy his resignation letter to the Co-Chair of the CORD Coalition Management Board, Senator David Musalia and Odinga’s fellow Principals in CORD, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula.
This move comes shortly after a camp backing the Budalangi MP who is eyeing the Secretary General’s Post stormed out of the venue of the National Governing Council meeting.
The move comes as ODM party smarts from the Friday's chaotic elections that was disrupted by goons.
