Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has said the largest percentage of budgetary allocation in the coming financial budget will be directed to the education sector as a way of uplifting the standards of education in the country.

Speaking in Kapseret constituency, Nyoro said out of the Ksh.4.14 trillion budget, a lion's share goes to the education and agriculture sectors.

“The highest budget allocation will be education, so that all children in Kenya go to school. The other high budget is agriculture, we want agriculture to be a business. We will give farmers products, and we want them to profit from farm produce,” he said.

Nyoro, who is the chairperson of the Budgets and Appropriations committee in the National Assembly, said the allocation in the ministry of agriculture will assist in provision of subsidised fertiliser to farmers to enable them reap profits.

Funds for the elderly people and those living with disabilities will also be prioritised in the 2024/25 financial year budget.
