Eastleigh murder: Four suspects record statements as police retrieve CCTV footages

Detectives investigating the gruesome murders of two women and a young girl in Eastleigh have recorded statements from four individuals.

The people include a man currently in police custody, who is an accomplice to the primary suspect.

Meanwhile, police revisited several crime scenes on a fact-finding mission as the burial of the three victims took place at Lang'ata Cemetery.

Police retrieved CCTV footage from a petrol station along Mombasa Road. The footage captured a suspect refuelling a vehicle believed to have been used to transport the bodies, which has since been recovered.

Investigations reveal that the suspect refuelled the vehicle at the station after disposing of a body within Machakos County.

Among those questioned is an accomplice who was in contact with the main suspect on the night of the killings. The two also shared a rented house in Eastleigh.

Another individual who has provided a statement is the landlord, who allegedly rented the house to the suspect without official documentation.

Additionally, police have arrested two people from Nairobi’s CBD who sold the suspect a mobile phone worth Ksh.23,000. The suspect left a mobile number belonging to a woman at the shop.

Police have also retrieved CCTV footage from a building in Eastleigh, showing Warris Said Daud with the suspect on the night of the murders. Detectives then expanded their investigation to Bahati in Buruburu, where they collected additional evidence.

In related developments, someone with a striking resemblance to the main suspect was arrested in Dhobley, Somalia. However, after intense questioning and verification, the individual was released.

Meanwhile, prayers were held at Al Noor Mosque in South C for the three victims of the brutal killings. They were laid to rest at Lang'ata Cemetery following the prayers.

Bashir Shariff, the husband of Warris Daud Said and father of Nusayba Abdi, attended the burial.
