The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is set to release a report based on a survey conducted by the anti-graft agency, focusing on the nature and extent of corruption in Kenya's health sector.

The EACC has invited all county secretaries as well as Health CEC members to the report's launch on Wednesday, May 17, according to a letter seen by Citizen.Digital.

Other participants will be drawn from the  Senate, National Assembly, Ministry of Health, Health Reporters and Editors, Medical Schools in Universities.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and other development partners have been invited to attend.

The survey, conducted in collaboration with the EACC and the UNODC, aimed primarily at identifying corrupt practises during the pre-tendering, tendering, and post-tendering stages of healthcare projects.

In the letter to county secretaries signed by CEO Twalib Mbarak, the agency said the findings of the survey present crucial data that will enhance the government's quest for efficiency, accountability, and transparency in Kenya’s healthcare system.

The report comes on the heels of at least two EACC surveys ranking the Health Ministry as the second most corrupt in the country.

The majority of the complaints specifically point to issues with procurement and financial system management in nearly all counties.
