EACC arrests Thika billionaire after his 17 cars, 106 prime properties were frozen in graft probe

According to the EACC, the registrar demanded and received Ksh.400,000 as “facilitation fees” from the complainant as a mandatory condition, for the complainant to receive a title deed that had been pending for the past two years.

Journalists in Nakuru on Friday, EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi said Nyakundi
was arrested alongside his counterparts Boaz Sila Oseko and Samuel Murungi who allegedly
helped him run his bribe collection scheme in the land administration matters.
The suspects who were arrested on Thursday evening were taken to the EACC Integrity Centre Police Station for interrogation.
Previously Milimani High Court Judge Justice Esther Maina granted EACC orders to freeze the registrar's multi-billion worth assets which included 17 high-end vehicles and 106 prime properties for 6 months. This follows suspicions of illegal acquirement of the property.
