Dream turns into nightmare as woman arrested on her wedding day
According to reports,
the four stormed into the wedding reception, whisked her out of the premise,
and took her to a police station in Mbarara, Western Uganda where she spent the
night and was released on Sunday.
Police spokesperson Fred
Enanga confirmed the incident saying that the four may be facing dismissal
from the force upon conviction.
Enanga said that the
arrest was "reprehensible and based on poor judgement" further
asserting that legal
action shall be taken against them.
"It turned out that
what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life ended in a
nightmare," Enanga said in a statement.
Enanga noted that one
officer has already been apprehended and will remain in police custody.
Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched
for the remaining three in a
bid to bring them to book.
Preliminary
investigations revealed that the arrest was prompted by complaints from the
bride's ex-employer where she was working as a bank agent. They had been asked
to seek civil resolve over the dispute.
