DP Gachagua now claims Uhuru is sponsoring Raila’s mass action
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and National
Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah are now claiming that former
President Uhuru Kenyatta is behind Monday's planned demonstrations by Azimio la
Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga.
The Kenya Kwanza Alliance leaders spoke on
Saturday in Kirinyaga County where a section of Members of Parliament from Mount
Kenya recognized DP Gachagua as the top-ranked leader in the region.
These people who are sponsoring this mzee
should stop living in denial...this mzee lost...there is nothing they can do,”
said the DP.
Ichung’wa stated: “Uhuru Kenyatta because you
are the principal sponsor of the demonstrations...Raila Odinga is a mercinary
sponsored by Uhuru Kenyatta.”
DP Gachagua, while calling security agencies
to protect property of civilians before, during and after the demonstrations,
stated that President William Ruto will not be cowed by the planned mass
action.
“I want to assure the people of Kenya that
adequate plans have been made to protect the lives and property of Kenyans. We
want Kenyans to go about their businesses. Ruto hapana mtoto wa cerelac, ni
chuma wa zamani...huyo si mtu wa kuuziwa uwoga...uwoga uliuzia yule mtu wa
cerelac,” said the DP.
Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot said: “On
Monday, the Kenyans that want to go about their business wapatiwe nafasi yao
waendelee na kazi yao bila kusumbuliwa na mtu yeyote...because there should be
a time when we say enough is enough.”
In Bungoma County, Governor Kenneth Lusaka
and Senator David Wakoli Wafula led the Kenya Kwanza alliance onslaught against
Odinga, stating that the government will not allow loss of life and property
come Monday.
“A government that has been legitimately
sworn in is not something to joke with...na hakuma mtu atakubalia kwenda hiyo
State House,” said Governor Lusaka.
The leaders spoke at the funeral ceremony of
the late former Director General of the Communications Authority (CA) Eng.
Francis Wangusi.
