DP Gachagua chairs Cabinet committee meeting after return from Germany
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Deputy President emphasized the importance of strategic consultations and decision reviews within various ministries to ensure the effective service delivery of the agenda.
“For a People-centred implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, through interministerial strategic consultations and review of decisions, this is crucial. It allows us to make necessary and timely adjustments for effective and efficient service delivery” he stated.
The meeting comes after Gachagua's return to Kenya, following his 1-week visit to Germany, where he held meetings with various stakeholders who pledged support for job creation and innovation in Kenya.
A partnership with the Free State of Bavaria, announced by Gachagua on October 29, saw Kenya being adopted into Bavaria's Strategy for Africa, aims to bolster Kenya's sustainable economic growth.
The development stemmed from a meeting between Gachagua and the Minister for European and International Affairs of the Free State of Bavaria Melanie Huml in Munich, Germany.
During their discussions, Gachagua and Huml explored collaboration in several sectors, including Renewable Energy, Manufacturing, Tourism, Labour Migration, Sports Development, Education, and Exchange Programs. Gachagua expressed enthusiasm for the joint implementation of action points geared towards sustainable development.
Gachagua, representing President William Ruto, acknowledged the longstanding 60 years of diplomatic relations between Kenya and Bavaria.
According to him, the ties have propelled Bavaria to become the second development partner in Kenya's socio-economic transformation.
The DP also represented President Ruto at the Global Gateway Forum hosted by the European Commission in Brussels.
He returned to Kenya on Tuesday evening, after being abroad since October 24.
