The Kenyan entertainment industry is mourning the passing on of DJ Babu following a grisly road accident.

DJ Babu, who is based in Dubai, was pronounced dead on Tuesday when his car rolled. His sudden death comes just three days after hosting Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones in Dubai.

DJ Babu had consistently promoted  Khaligraph's trip to Dubai and called on Kenyans and fans in the UAE to turn up for the show.

The DJ's death shocked the entertainment sector in Kenya, considering he was a key promoter of Kenyan music in Dubai and organiser of shows for Kenyan artists.

Among those left devastated by his death is DJ Crème de la Crème, who said he has been constantly in communication with Babu and was a huge fan of his work.

"King, it's just the worst news I have heard thus far. We just talked the other day G. Thank you Babu for the good vibes, the gigs and for sharing your gift of music with us. Fly well my brother, we shall do this again someday," Creme said in an Instagram post.

DJ Babu started his music career around 2008. He then relocated to Dubai and established Jamdown Dubai, a venture promoting music and planning gigs for Kenyan artists.
