Directorate
of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives have stumbled upon a human body
believed to be that of a missing taxi driver, Victoria Mumbua Muloki.
The
female body was discovered at the Nairobi City Mortuary after an intense
interrogation session with the suspect, Edwin Ng’etich, who was found with the
deceased's stolen motor vehicle.
Investigations
reveal that the body was found in a thicket within Mai Mahiu next to a road in
Lari, Kiambu County.
Police
were notified and it was brought to the City Mortuary, where it was booked on
September 29, 2024, as an unknown body.
Criminal
Intelligence and Research Bureau detectives, who were profiling the suspect,
were instrumental in the discovery.
Ng’etich
was arrested in Nakuru while driving Muloki's motor vehicle. He opened up to
detectives after intense questioning, and further reports indicate that he led
police to the location where he dumped the body.
Muloki’s
family in Mombasa has been notified. The family say they will be travelling to
Nairobi to conduct further identification processes, including DNA profiling,
as police plan for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Meanwhile,
records have revealed that Ng’etich has committed similar offences in the past.
Muloki, a Mombasa-based taxi driver, went missing on Friday, September 27, after accepting a ride request from Mombasa to Samburu.
