A partly decomposed body of a primary school teacher has been found in a rental apartment at Silibwet Trading Centre in Bomet County.

According to Bomet Central Sub-County Police Chief Bashir Ali, the deceased is suspected to have died about a week ago, without the knowledge of his relatives, friends, or school management.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the teacher had a kidney problem, which may have contributed to his death.

"A team of DCI officers visited the scene to determine the exact cause of death. We want to avoid speculation and rely on evidence. We were informed that he had rented the apartment and was living alone," said Ali.

He also revealed that the teacher, who worked at a school within Bomet Central Sub-County, did not leave any notes that could aid in the investigation.

The deceased's body has since been taken to Longisa Hospital Mortuary.
