DCI rubbishes claims of blocking Gachagua from Nairobi church service

 In a Tuesday morning statement, the DCI dismissed the claims as unsubstantiated, calling them a misrepresentation of the agency’s actions and intentions.

The DCI emphasised that it operates strictly within the rule of law, with a commitment to respecting individuals' personal freedoms and religious practices. 

The agency reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding the rights of individuals and institutions, underscoring its respect for the autonomy of religious organizations.

The DCI attributed the misinformation to a local media outlet, calling on the publication to uphold fairness and truthfulness in its reporting, particularly when covering matters involving high-profile individuals and national institutions.

Deputy President Gachagua addressed the congregation in his native Kikuyu language during a Sunday service at the Priesthood Fellowship Church in Kahawa West.

The former deputy president, who was impeached, told supporters that he is currently consulting with various stakeholders and would provide direction in the coming days.

He encouraged attendees to remain calm and stressed the importance of voter registration, which he referred to as “our shield,” seemingly alluding to the 2027 political contest.
