The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has apprehended another suspect linked to the brutal murder of Wells Fargo HR Manager Willis Ayieko.
The suspect, Duncan Onyango, also known as Otuch, was arrested at his hideout in Bondo, Kisumu County, on Wednesday.
Police say Onyango's home was positively identified as the location where the deceased was tortured and brutally killed.
"The detectives investigating the case conducted a scene reenactment exercise with one of the previously arrested suspects, who identified the house of Duncan Onyango as the location where the victim was tortured and murdered," the DCI said in a statement on X.
"The body of the deceased was recovered less than 400 meters from the suspect's house, which is located in Luanda Doho, Kisa East, Kakamega County."
Onyango remains in custody pending his arraignment.
His arrest comes just two days after another suspect linked to the crime, boda boda rider Fredrick Otieno Omondi, who is believed to have played a key role in Ayieko's abduction and murder.
According to police, Omondi allegedly provided transportation for the main suspect, Victor Ouma, also known as Sisco, who was initially detained in Dandora, Nairobi.
Additional police reports indicate that Omondi used his motorbike to transport Ouma to the location of Ayieko's abduction.
In a related development, last week, police in Kisumu fatally shot another suspect, Robert Okoth, who is reportedly Ouma's brother and was also involved in the crime.
The investigation is ongoing, with DCI officers pursuing multiple leads to determine the full circumstances surrounding Ayieko's murder.
