The High Court has granted former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju an anticipatory bond of Ksh.200,000.

This is after Tuju moved to court on Tuesday, claiming he is under constant threat of arrest and harassment by police and prosecution agencies.

In an ex parte application, Tuju claims that he was followed by unmarked vehicles on March 21 and forced to abandon his car to seek refuge at a secure location.

He later reported to Karen Police Station to record a statement, but alleges he was manhandled by officers, aggravating injuries sustained previously in an aeroplane and motor vehicle accident.

In his application, Tuju is also seeking the High Court to restrain the Inspector General of Police, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) from summoning, arresting, or interfering with his freedom of movement, and ensure he can receive medical treatment free from intimidation or police presence.

Justice Martin Muya has certified the matter as urgent. The case will be mentioned on April 7, 2026.
