Controller of Budget lauds Narok Governor Ole Ntutu for development record

CoB Margaret Nyakango, while speaking in Nyamira County on Friday, called on other governors to follow suit and utilize development funds allocated in their budgets.

“The governor of Narok, I can tell you, is number one in development and number one in revenue collection. These are my figures, and I can confirm them to you here,” said the Controller of Budget.

Nyakango stated that her office is keenly scrutinizing budget allocations in counties and monitoring how governors and their executives are implementing their budgets.

“We are happy today that you have come to join us here in Nyamira,” added Nyakango.

The Controller of Budget has, in her reports, put governors on notice over the allocation of funds to development while recording expenditures below 30 percent.

In the last CoB report, Narok and Homa Bay counties topped the development category, with Narok recording a 90.3% absorption rate of its development budget, while Homa Bay recorded an 86.3% absorption rate.
