COFEK invites complaints about Boyz II Men concert
The
Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK) has invited formal complaints on Saturday’s
Stanbic
Yetu Festival headlined
by legendary American R&B music group Boyz II Men.
COFEK on Monday said it had received reports from
concertgoers who said the event which took place at the Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi
did not live up to their expectations, going by ticket prices.
And while
some praised it as an improvement from the previous show headlined by American singer Anthony Hamilton,
others told the federation that the concert was too short and poorly
planned.
“COFEK
has since requested revellers who attended the event and have complaints to
share evidence of payment and other specific complaints they have. They can
reach COFEK through hotline@cofek.africa,”
said the consumer federation, adding that complaints will be raised with the
event organizers.
“If
we don’t secure satisfactory responses COFEK will take decisive action which
may include a class action lawsuit on behalf of the complainants.”
On Sunday morning, social media was awash with mixed reviews of the highly-publicised event, with some who attended the concert raving about their experience while others complained about the sound quality and faulty LED screens, among others.
