Class 8 pupil dies after choking during bread eating competition in Busia

A Class Eight pupil from Sikura Primary School in Butula, Busia County, on Wednesday died after he was choked while participating in an eating competition at the school.

The 16-year-old victim died at Bulwani Hospital after a piece of bread blocked his airways, making it impossible for him to breathe.

He was part of a cohort of students who were involved in the eating competition that saw them partake of bread and soda.
