Citizen TV launches new, state-of-the-art election studio

Citizen TV launched new, state-of-the-art studios on Sunday evening as the station positions itself to provide the most sophisticated, elegant and unprecedented election news coverage as millions of Kenyans go to the polls.

The sheeny studio has been under construction over the past several months as tens of experts got down to business in anticipation of the upcoming election coverage.

The unprecedented state-of-the-art studio has been equipped with some of the finest and ultramodern screens which will put audiences first with new features and cutting edge technology to provide more modern ways of story-telling, election coverage, viewer interaction and improve the experience of viewers at home.

The ambitious redevelopment of the Citizen TV news studio forms part of Citizen TV's commitment to modernise the delivery of its news coverage and better serve their audiences as the elections kick off in earnest in the next few hours.

It is also an ambitious project to make Citizen TV's biggest studio the most flexible, efficient, exciting and contemporary space.

Viewers will get to see the new-look studio from 7pm, Sunday Night.

Some of the new features will include a new giant curved catwalk that will bring Citizen TV's distinctive design element to life and allow the station to help clearly and cleanly navigate viewers through the biggest and smallest aspects of the elections.

It will also feature highly-interactive screens that will allow the station to cover the elections in a multitude of ways and navigate through a complex web of coverage, giving the presenters a number of platforms to share nationwide coverage with viewers in real-time and in more intricate and interactive ways.

Behind the scenes, tons of new equipment, including a state of the art robotic camera system with embedded tracks on the floor, will allow presenters to safely move around the space and bring the election coverage to life in a more flawless and flexible manner.

"Today we are delighted to launch our state of the art election studio. We dedicate this facility to our viewers in kenya and across the region and around the world. This investment is in honour of their consistent faith in the Royal Media services journalism platforms. We thank you and offer this studio as an enrichment of your experience of watching us." Linus Kaikai, Editorial Director at Royal Media Services, said.

On his part, Wachira Waruru, the Royal Media Services Managing Director, heaped praise on the new studio which he said was a testament of Royal Media Services' commitment to provide the very best to the audiences.

"We are hours now to a most consequential election and Kenyans are looking up to the Royal Media Services to once again be their media platform of choice for all elections updates. I stand proud to say that we are up to the challenge both from a hardware and software standpoint," he said

"Our new state of the art studios, far superior to any that you may have seen before in Kenya, shows once again our commitment to provide only the best to our audiences. Paired with the best journalistic minds in the country, we pledge to provide world-class coverage, like never before. Join us as we keep Kenya and the world updated during this election," .
