Citizen Digital, Viusasa win big at 2023 Mobile App Awards

Citizen Digital received accolades on Thursday being recognised as both the Best Mobile App of the Year and the Best News and Information App during the 2023 Mobile App Awards.

The awards were presented to Citizen Digital, which falls under the Royal Media Services (RMS) umbrella, at an elegant gala dinner and ceremony hosted at the Sarova Panafric Hotel in Nairobi.

The occasion served as an excellent opportunity for persons in the mobile industry to connect, network and commemorate their accomplishments.

Another RMS digital product, Viusasa, was also feted as the Best Video on Demand App at the event which encompassed a total of 30 award categories.

The categories ranged from Best Social Networking App, Best Health and Wellness App, Best Educational App, Best Gaming App and Best Online Marketplace App, among others.  

Nominations for the awards concluded on October 6, followed by the publication of the final nominees' shortlist on October 19.

Subsequently, the public voting phase commenced on October 20 and closed on November 5, 2023.
