Christmas disrupted by Muhoroni fire
Two people died Sunday morning after a fierce fire razed down business premises at Muhoroni Trading Centre.
The Christmas Day fire also destroyed property worth millions of shillings.
According to the Kisumu County Police Commander, Titus Yoma, the fire is suspected to have started in the residential houses where the deceased were sleeping.
Mr Yoma said the inferno emanated from the adjacent building and spread to a soft drinks deport.
“The two who died were a couple and the bodies have been taken to St Vincent Mortuary in Muhoroni awaiting an autopsy,” he said.
On his part, Kisumu County Commissioner, Maalim Mohamed, termed the incident as a sad affair noting that security apparatus are investigating the cause of the fire.
