This launch brings the company’s total footprint to 16 stores across Kenya, further cementing its position as a leader in the country’s quick-service restaurant industry.
The new outlet, strategically located at a Hass Petroleum station along Kasarani–Mwiki Road, is expected to serve over 800,000 residents in the area. The branch targets families, young professionals, and urban youth with a focus on offering affordable yet high-quality meals in a modern dining environment.
“We are proud to open our 8th Chicken Cottage branch since 2024 and our 16th store overall,” said Abdirashid Jabane, Director of Express Kitchen. “Our mission is to meet the evolving culinary preferences of Kenya’s fast-growing urban population while staying true to our promise of quality and affordability.”
Ayan Ali, also a Director at Express Kitchen, added, “We are a locally owned company, and our growth reflects our dedication to serving communities and creating memorable dining experiences for our customers.”
With youth unemployment in Kenya standing at 12% (KNBS, 2024), Express Kitchen is actively contributing to job creation. The company currently employs over 200 Kenyans across its outlets in Nairobi and Narok, with plans to hire more as it scales up operations.
The company’s partnership with Hass Petroleum, which operates 38 retail stations in Kenya and more than 150 across nine countries, has been instrumental in expanding its reach to urban commuters.
“The opening of Chicken Cottage at Hass Kasarani is a major step toward creating holistic, family-friendly destinations across the country,” said Mohamud Salat, CEO of Hass Group. “This is the second Chicken Cottage branch at a Hass service station after last year’s successful launch in Narok. Their quality offerings align perfectly with our commitment to delivering convenience and exceptional customer experiences.”
To complement its physical stores, the new Kasarani outlet offers delivery via Glovo, Uber Eats, and Bolt Food, ensuring customers can access their favorite meals on demand.
