Chaos erupted in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County, on Monday as police used tear gas to disperse Multimedia University students who attempted to block Magadi Road protesting their colleague’s death.

Lameck Mwangi, a second-year student, was found dead outside the institution on Sunday in a hit-and-run accident.

Police tackled the agitated students who hurled stones and disrupted traffic flow on the road, demanding answers into Mwangi’s death.

The officers were seen lobbing tear gas canisters across the varsity’s fence from the highway to keep the students off the road.

Langata Sub County Commander Monica Kimani told Citizen Digital the matter was still under investigation.
