Chaos as Multimedia University students protest colleague’s death

Chaos erupted in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado
County, on Monday as police used tear gas to disperse Multimedia University
students who attempted to block Magadi Road protesting their colleague’s death.
Lameck Mwangi, a second-year student, was
found dead outside the institution on Sunday in a hit-and-run accident.
Police tackled the agitated students who
hurled stones and disrupted traffic flow on the road, demanding answers into
Mwangi’s death.
The officers were seen lobbing tear gas canisters
across the varsity’s fence from the highway to keep the students off the road.
Langata Sub County Commander Monica Kimani told
Citizen Digital the matter was still under investigation.
